If Bump Stocks Are So Bad

If Bump Stocks Are So Bad

Not that long ago, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives concluded that bump-fire stocks, “slide-fire” devices were merely a gun accessory or firearm part, not subject to federal regulation. After an evil person murders 58 people and injures 851; the gun accessory is used as a scapegoat.

Law abiding gun owners are often the scapegoat. Am I the only one that dislikes being accused of things I don’t or didn’t do?

I speak about this, the origin of the Scapegoat, and who the real demon is in this story on this weeks episode of the Black Man With A Gun Show Podcast. The show is now in its 12th year and has had over 2.1 million downloads.

Here’s a comment from one of my friends.

Why every single American should be up in arms over the bump stock ban…

Forget for a moment that we’re talking about a piece of plastic that is a gimmick. Let’s look at how this ban was put in place.

No law was passed. No law was broken. The item was legal to purchase. Illegally, DOJ, with the stroke of a pen, outlawed these items. BUT HOW?

Congress was not involved. There was no law passed outlawing these items. Such a law wouldn’t be able to get through Congress. So, DOJ violated the law in quite a number of ways to do it. They declared it a machine gun and subject to prohibition.

The term “machine gun” is very precisely defined in Federal Code…

The term “machinegun” means any weapon which shoots, is designed to shoot, or can be readily restored to shoot, automatically more than one shot, without manual reloading, by a single function of the trigger. The term shall also include the frame or receiver of any such weapon, any part designed and intended solely and exclusively, or combination of parts designed and intended, for use in converting a weapon into a machinegun, and any combination of parts from which a machinegun can be assembled if such parts are in the possession or under the control of a person.

The key point here is “by a single function of the trigger”.

ATF prior to DOJ stepping in correctly identified the bump stock as a non firearm accessory in compliance with the definition of a machine gun according to Federal Code.

DOJ arbitrarily changed the definition, illegally, for their purposes. Only Congress has the power to make such a change. DOJ does not. The President does not.

So, we have a situation now where a lawfully purchased item is declared illegal, through illegal means. This creates quite the Constitutional Crisis.

If this is allowed to stand. There is no single area of Federal Code that cannot be modified at will by any agency and they can do it without the consent of Congress.

This ladies and gentlemen is the very definition of tyranny. This is NOT how our Republic operates.

On top of this, they are demanding the surrender or destruction of these devices without due compensation to the owners. Again, this is illegal AND Unconstitutional.

We as Americans have a choice. We comply, we bend the knee, and surrender our Freedoms… We do this, on bump stocks and the door is permanently open for future abuses by DOJ and other agencies.

Or, we resist. Do not comply. We fight it tooth and nail. We refuse to accept their narrative. We tell them NO. We back it by force of arms if necessary.

There is risk in the latter option, there is tyranny in the former. Pick one. You have no other choices. We have been far to tolerant of this out of control Government for far to long.

Our representation in Congress and the Presidency have for far to long taken our Rights and Liberties for granted. They have used our Freedoms as bargaining chips for their political gain.

If what they have done now is allowed to stand, they can ban anything they want. Guns, knives, cars, sexual preference, gay marriage, whatever, simply by deeming it so without Congress.

Congress should be up in arms over this. They have just been made completely moot. Their status in Government no longer matters. Yet, they sit quietly by and watch.

It is now up to the Citizens to do what is right.

I am publicly calling for the President to rescind this stupid edict and for DOJ to stop operating outside of it’s legal boundaries. I am calling on all Americans to fight this, whether you are pro gun, anti gun, or whatever. Allowing this to stand will do harm to all of us. There is a Constitutional process to be followed and it has NOT been followed in this instance. The ban is illegal and Unconstitutional. DO NOT COMPLY. FIGHT!

What say you?

After Attending the 2019 Podfest Expo

After Attending the 2019 Podfest Expo

The difference between leveraging and pivoting.

After a safe and prosperous trip to Orlando, Florida where I attended the 2019 Podfest Multimedia Expo, I had a few new ideas on how to start profiting from my knowledge and skillset.

Pivoting is to turn from what you were doing and do something else. Leveraging is taking advantage of what you have and using it to move you further.

Podfest Multimedia Expo is an annual convention of online (digital) content creators. Experts in the YouTube, podcasting and social media mix and mingle with folks of all levels. This one was the fifth year and had over 1000+ attendees.

For me, it is like summer camp. I get to see people that are making 50K+ a month doing this stuff and encourage those that are newer than I at it. This year I got the opportunity to me the master of ceremonies for the keynote events and show off my skills.

FUN

I had a blast. I sang. I told stories and kept the keynote speakers on time. I presented them with sincerity and related to the audience. It was easy to do because I knew the audience really well. I know what it feels like to travel to a conference, sit for hours, anticipate and search for relevancy.

Podfest Expo is usually smaller than Podcast Movement which has grown exponentially. It has the same kinda of people in it with more sponsors and a corporate vibe. This year it will be in August, also in Orlando, Fl. I usually only attend one so they’ll have to miss me this year unless I get a special invite and a plane ticket.

The trip was prosperous for me because I got a chance to meet new friends, say hello to old ones and learn what I could do to “leverage” what I have and know to monetize a platform. It is my desire to use this to make Kenn Blanchard Co profitable.

I had a pivotal moment when I was explaining to my friend that I wanted to continue to grow my online ministry but was challenged by finances. He reminded me that God gave me everything I need to succeed. I had an aha moment.

I just need to focus my energy. I need to be deliberate in my social media post. I need to grow the audience where the business meets the media.

New Moves

I have a podcast editing business with no clients but that is ok. I am saving that skill set for the pastors and ministers I plan to help set up podcast under a new network called ApostleRadio.net coming soon. In the meantime, I am going to continue to edit and produce warriorcast.com my sons show and the new el Segundo Edicto (el2e.com) a Second Amendment and American Constitutional Rights podcast for Spanish speakers.

I pivoted from being a speaker at Podfest to being an Emcee. That was a complete change from the facilitator of learning, the sharing of ideas and passing on of knowledge I have gained from podcasting for 12 years. As the emcee I went straight into entertainment mode. This was entertaining with a purpose.

The leveraging part comes into play as I take my skills and experience as a recognized online media person known for gun rights and the Black Man With A Gun and start yet another show that will focus on sharing security information. It is a strength I never utilize. I’ve been protecting people all of my life.

Stay tuned as I build How To Prevail.

Wyoming Women’s Antelope Hunt Scholarship

Wyoming Women’s Antelope Hunt Scholarship

The Wyoming Women’s Foundation (WYWF)

announced today that its scholarship application for the 2019 Wyoming Women’s Antelope Hunt will open March 1.

WYWF founded the Wyoming Women’s Antelope Hunt in 2013 to create mentorship opportunities for women through a Wyoming tradition of hunting. The event raises funds to support WYWF’s mission, which is to invest in the economic self-sufficiency of women and the future of girls in Wyoming.

The Hunt takes place at the Ranch at Ucross northeast of Buffalo, Wyo. All hunters will be guided by licensed guides on private or public lands within an hour’s drive of the ranch. In the first two years of the event more than 90% of hunters harvested an animal. Hunters can also participate in other outdoor skill-building activities, such as fly fishing, trap shooting and workshops on cooking with wild game.

Scholarships include all license, hunting and guide fees, as well as lodging, meals and post-hunt activities for four days and three nights at the scenic guest ranch. Hunters of all skill levels, including first-time hunters, are welcome to apply. Applicants will be considered from anywhere in the country, but selected applicants must provide their own transportation to the ranch.

To apply, submit an online application by March 15, which includes a 300 word essay on why you would like to participate and what sets you apart from other applicants. Selections will include both seasoned hunters and aspiring hunters who will hunt as mentors and mentees in pairs with other women participants. 8-13 of more than 40 hunting spots will be awarded to scholarship applicants. Event sponsors and Hunt alumna make the scholarship program possible.

Visit www.wyomingwomensantelopehunt.org for more information and to apply.

Its A Wonderful Life

Its A Wonderful Life

I caught the entrepreneurial bug early but have not been able to make a living from my endeavors. I have done amazing things. I have tried just about everything in my niches. I learned a lot. One of the most important things is that not all niches are profitable. I am passionate about business. If it weren’t for my love of the outdoors, motorcycles and blues music I would be on my computer 24/7 trying to do something to further my business.

My wife calls me

the most famous broke guy in America

I preached on the National Day of Prayer at the CIA. I have protected people my whole life. I’ve been an law enforcement officer, protective agent, and intelligence officer.

And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;— 1 Timothy 1:12

I was licensed to preach at Mount Sinai Baptist Church in 2001. This was ten days before 9/11. I was ordained as a Baptist minister in 2007. I was called as the pastor of Historic Berean Baptist Church in 2008 where I served there faithfully for five years. I now pastor the Speak Life Church, Inc.

I’ve been married to the same person since 1991 and have two adult children doing well.

I’ve spoken at a rally in New York with 20,000 friends cheering me on. I’ve been on African television, CNN, Fox News, local news, and so many media outlets, I can’t remember them all.

I have sold six oil paintings. I’ve published five books. The Amazon.com links are on this site. Here are some of the links to articles I have published.

I have traveled to over a dozen countries and have a great appreciation for life, and liberty.

What does all this mean? What’s the point of this post.  To me, it is a reminder what Socrates said.

“An un-examined life is not worth living”

I’m writing this to remember the past so I can continue on.

I have a few rules.

Rule #1- Everything we do is equal.

The size of your obstacle, challenge, or the length of your journey all begin with one step.

Rule #2- We all need a lot of small victories before your finish.

If you are stranded on an island and were able to make a raft that floated that is a big deal. The second is making sure it could sustain your trip for a few days at sea. Next that you could actually get it into the big surf. Everything is steps. The keys to success here are patience, and perseverance.

Rule #3- Failure is not final.

We can be really hard on ourselves when we fail on the first attempt. I am. I am learning it is actually good to fail fast, and start again. Sometimes your data is wrong, your map is out of date, or your destination needs to change. It’s ok. It’s not over until you give up your last breath. Every day you get up is a new chance to get it right. Almost all the great inventions and machines of our day took years either to be invented or accepted. You might just be too early. If so, be patient with yourself.

Rule #4 – Keep Going

Only when we are no longer afraid do we begin to live.– Dorothy Thompson
