It looks like November 8, 2016 is going to go down in history as…well, a lot of things. But it will certainly be remembered as a day when we got just a little more breathing room in the battle to preserve gun rights.

Breathing room.

Donald Trump may be the President-elect, and he may well live up to his promises to protect our right to keep and bear arms. But that doesn’t mean the fight is over. Far from it. Not to be a wet blanket, but one thing Donald Trump has always been is…flexible. He’s a businessman, and he sees every interaction as a negotiation.

But make no mistake, last night was a win. While many have worried that Trump may be willing to negotiate over gun rights, Hillary Clinton certainly was not. Her objective was the gutting of the 2nd Amendment, and she made it perfectly clear that she would give no quarter.

Trump we can work with, but work we must. We are simply entering the next phase of the battle over the 2nd Amendment, and we cannot relax. With a Republican Congress and President, it is time to roll up our sleeves and get to work restoring the gun rights of law-abiding Americans…and holding Donald Trump to his word.

The 2nd Amendment isn’t going to save itself…

So let’s celebrate the win, and then continue with the work of preserving the right to keep and bear arms.

  1. Amen. Our work is just beginning. We need to work on uniting our country again and restore our rights to all people including those in the gun control capitals of the United States.

  2. It’s been a little over a week since the election and it has been pretty crazy. Very grateful for my right to bear arms and will fight to make sure I always can! Great election, and happy for the win as well. Thanks for your words!

  3. When Trump win in as the most powerful President of the world. But you guys shouldn’t forget if Hillary have won then it become more famous history as she will be the First Lady as an American President in their Centenarian History.
