I share some of Jeff coopers principles of defense, and the reminder of how cerebral and mental shooting is, its software over hardware. Michael j Woodland gives some tips for getting started, and I remember and eulogize Bob Owens in my own way. This show is sponsored by patrons like you at patreon.com/blackmanwithagun.
On Monday May 8th, we lost a friend, a collegue, a father, a husband and a fierce defender of individual rights, Bob Owens. He was my friend. He is survived by his wife Christine and his daughters. He was working on a book called the “Deplorable’s Guide to Guns” There is a Go Fund me campaign to help his family at https://www.gofundme.com/the-bob-owens-memorial-family-fund
Officials say Owens shot himself in the head near his North Carolina home. He was found around 11 a.m. near a stop sign outside his subdivision in Fuquay-Varina, N.C., a town southwest of Raleigh. A gun was located nearby, according to the Fuquay-Varina Police Department.
Shortly before Owens’s death, he apparently wrote a chilling message on Facebook that I read and didn’t know was going to be his last posting. He said
“In the end, it turns out that I’m not strong. I’m a coward, and selfish son of a b‑‑‑‑. I’m sorry.”
I’m still hurting from this. I dedicate this song to his memory. He was a cool guy and a light to me.
