Any Walking Dead fans? Want to know what it is about? The show is not just another “Zombie-fest.” Zombies have been around since the African diaspora brought the myth to our mixed culture. It has its homages to the George Romero the American-Canadian film director, film producer, screenwriter and editor, best known for his series of gruesome and satirical horror films about a hypothetical zombie apocalypse, beginning with Night of the Living Dead.

Zombie stories are not new. They are usually fictional undead creatures, depicted as mindless, reanimated corpses with a hunger for human flesh, and particularly for human brains. I figured out some nuggets I want to share from the fantasy/horror shows.

About The Walking Dead

The AMC’s Walking Dead comes from a ten year old comicbook that is still being written by Robert Kirkman of Skybound Comics.

It’s an epidemic of apocalyptic proportions has swept the globe, causing the dead to rise and feed on the living. In a matter of months, society has crumbled: There is no government, no grocery stores, no mail delivery, no cable TV. Rick Grimes finds himself one of the few survivors in this terrifying future. A couple months ago he was a small town cop who had never fired a shot and only ever saw one dead body. Separated from his family, he must now sort through all the death and confusion to try and find his wife and son. In a world ruled by the dead, we are forced to finally begin living.
