Attempted vehicle burglary suspect shot by resident, in sta – KSLA News 12 Shreveport, Louisiana

Police are investigating a shooting where a guy was trying to steal a car and got shot by the owner in Lubbock, Texas. He said the suspect pulled a weapon on him and he shot him.

A man who was shot as he was reportedly attempting to break into a vehicle is now recovering at the hospital. Jordan Mitchell Emerson, 22, was taken to UMC with serious injuries. He is now in stable.

Lubbock police responded to a report of shots fired and a civil disturbance at 2012 Main Street just after 7 p.m. Monday. When officers arrived, a 34-year-old male resident said he shot a suspect who was trying to break into his car.

The resident says he called police once to report that the suspect was trying to break into the vehicle. He called a second time shortly after to report that the suspect pulled out a weapon before resident shot him.
