Thanks For Visiting.
The Black Man With A Gun Show, formerly known as the Urban Shooter Podcast was created to fulfill a need to stay in contact with the gun community Kenn Blanchard has met as a rights activist along his journey since 1991. You’ll hear defensive gun use, firearms training tips for the new shooter and reminders for the advanced. We are protecting the rights of gun owners, and providing little known or forgotten facts about American history. We share news you can use, interviews with interesting people who you don’t always hear about, with entertaining pieces from all over the place. And we are trying to leave you with some positive encouragement.
When I started this site in 1999, the term “Black Man With A Gun” was a little more provocative than it is now. It told me instantly where you where on the gun rights debate. No matter what you identified as, you reaction was quantifiable. Over the years, I have learned a lot about the history of gun control, the people in the gun community, the politics behind it all and much about myself.
If you are pro-gun, regardless of your dominate race, in today’s society you are a Black Man With A Gun. I have learned that the gun culture is a good indicator of your values as a person.
“Anyone that will give you a firearm is a friend, anyone trying to take it away from you is an enemy.”
This site will have contributors from all walks of life. It started with me but it’s no longer just about me anymore. I am proud to share the growing number of people I have met along my journey and they have a point of view that needs to be heard, read, seen. Welcome to Black Man With A Gun.
I get by with a little help from my friends.
Rev. Kenn Blanchard has been on television, radio, and news print as the pro-gun black guy since 1991. He uses the “BLACK” thing only to attract attention and as a way to see where people are in their thinking. It is a brand. He promotes the values of courage, truth, justice, compassion, dignity, humility and service mixed in with being entertaining and educational. He is trying to fill a great void in our nation, and answer our collective longing to become a country that truly lives by its noblest principles.
The podcast has been online since late November 2007. It is from unintended consequences that he has became a trusted sage in an industry, community and nation that is political and polarizing. He uses this blog and podcast to lift up good people, share common goals and help when possible on a personal level.
What began as a personal blog is now a brand that seeks to grow with new voices. Welcome to Black Man With A Gun.com
